NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – It was six years ago that Long Island native Bob Levinson, a retired FBI agent, was kidnapped during a private trip to Iran.

On Wednesday evening, his wife Christine was honored for her tireless efforts to track him down.

“I take it one day at a time and just keep pushing,” Levinson told 1010 WINS’ Mona Rivera.

She was presented with the Profiles In Courage award from the National Police Defense Foundation at a ceremony in Queens.

She said she doesn’t feel particularly courageous but said she doesn’t want people to forget about her husband’s case.

“I believe he’s alive, I always have. I just want him home safe and sound to be with our family,” Levinson told Rivera.

Other than photos and a video, there has been no word about Bob Levinson and no demands.

Levinson said no group has claimed responsibility for her husband’s kidnapping.

“I have no idea. I still believe that the Iranian government can help us find whoever that is and bring him home. I wish that they would tell us what we need to do to bring him home,” she said.
